 Nice idea, but...Dec 30, 2009
The idea is good, and my daughter loves to "play" with them. But... The recommended age is 3?? The parts are tiny: my daughter got 4 of these for Christmas & has already lost several of the shoes & probably would have lost more of the items if I wasn't so anal about keeping them all together in a plastic baggie. Also, the rubber clothes are hard to put on & take off, even for an adult: I can't believe they would think a 3-yr-old could dress these things. The quality is so-so: typical made-in-China merchandise. Overall, I'd recommend this for an older girl who can keep track of all the small pieces & has the patience & manual dexterity it takes to dress & undress the dolls.

I have to say that in spite of my low opinion, my 3-year-old LOVES this toy. But if you don't want to hear "Mommy, can you help me put on Cinderella's dress" every two minutes, buy another toy. These rubber gowns are SO hard to put on, even for my husband and me. And the gloves are a joke - they don't get past her wrists (which upsets my daughter - she thinks we're not trying hard enough), and the teeny tiny itsy bitsy eensy weensy shoes only stay on occasionally, because of the tackiness of the plastic, not because they're actually designed to fit the doll's foot. Like I said, my daughter loves this toy, but she can't play with it independently. This is my first introduction to "polly pocket" style toys, and I have to say, I'm not looking forward to the next few years of this!

This toy is rated for ages 3 and up, but the small pieces are impossible for a little one to keep track of. My daughter was heartbroken when the glass slippers went missing, despite our best efforts to count pieces before putting the toy away. She definitely can't dress the doll herself, and even my husband has trouble with it. My daughter admittedly loves this toy, but it's more about the Cinderella-factor than the toy itself. Save your money.

Design problems but she still loves it.Mar 28, 2009
My 3 year old has almost all of the princesses in this collection by now. She can spend hours playing with them. She puts an outfit on and takes it off and puts another outfit on and it goes on and on. She has a lot more patience for these little devils then I do. Just a testament to her intense love for Cinderella and Belle and the other princesses.
Expect to lose all the shoes. They are impossible to keep track of for even the most meticulous child. You can drop one and never find it again. Definitely don't expect to carry the doll around and keep them on. The heads come off too often. Daddy has done surgery a couple of times now on Jasmine and Cinderella but I don't know how many more time we can expect this to work. I wouldn't be able to attach them on my own at all. The faces need some work as well. They have a blank stare to them that is generic and cold. There is nothing there to suggest the warmth of each princess's personality. A much earlier version of these dolls were cute. These are ugly. Doesn't take much for the clothes to tear either.
Still, my daughter totes them everywhere and thinks they are just divine. She loves that all of the outfits from her favorite movies are there. I just wish they weren't so disposable and prone to breaking. Thank goodness we got most of them on an extreme close out at the store.

This was my daughter's favorite Christmas gift, but a big disappointment as Cinderella's head popped off within the first few days and many times subsequently. I called the company and they sent a voucher to replace it but for less than I paid for the set. Also, like all dolls of this size, the shoes are maddeningly small and so easy to lose.
