Thieves!! Why on earth would they withholds the Precious from us? We wants the Precious! We wants the EXTENDED versions of the Precious! Not the cheap rip-off, buys-it-so-we-has-to-buys-it-again version. O no precious, not pleased at all!!!

I have to say that if you are a casual fan of The Lord of the Rings, and never got the chance to buy the DVDs,I think this is a good package. I see many people complaining that it is NOT the Extended version, but if you want the extended version, why bother buying the Theatrical in the first place?
I like the Lord of the Rings, and this pack was a good buy for me, because I wanted to have the Blu-Ray experience, because I believe these type of movies were meant for Blu Ray. I read there is a Extended version release pending for 2011, but I personally don't mind theatrical.
The only downside of this package is that the Special Features come in a DVD, not in Blu-Ray. But other than that, it's a good combo for beginners of the series who never got them on DVD, or just want to upgrade the experience in a basic way.
I think image quality is really good, same with sound quality. I think these are great move with buying whether it's blu ray or DVD or theatrical or extended.

Never received product. I guess the merchant went out of business, but not before they took my money. Thank goodness Amazon made it right, and I received a refund.

Good Movie, terrible productJul 25, 2010
This is NOT the extended edition of the trilogy, which is currently unavailable.
I could not recommend this to anyone over the full movies. For those of us who already have the DVD version and wish to upgrade, we have to wait until they release the full movies on blu-ray.
